Keig is a historic parish and village located in the Howe of Alford, Aberdeenshire, known for its deep roots stretching from prehistoric times to its long association with Clan Forbes.
The 187 square meter, 230 year old property within the village of Keig had an issue with woodworm activity within the roof space, but nowhere else in the building. This isn’t a surprise, as we often find that the common furniture beetle tends to only target areas where the moisture levels are can be higher in regards to the other areas of the property.
A small area of woodworm activity was also noted within a cupboard on the first floor, which we found was due to a build-up of rubble behind the original lining boards, which was the cause of the higher than normal levels of moisture within the timbers.
Both areas of woodworm activity were treated accordingly, and our 30 Year Guarantee Certificate provided for the works.
