This three sectioned, two floored detached extension off the North Deeside Road in Aberdeen called for an external and internal waterproofing solution. Because of the slopping incline to the rear of the new build, a two stage external treatment was carried out to help prevent any runoff from the land penetrating the concrete retaining wall which was then back-filled. A two coat flexible tanking was applied to the blockwork before we fitted a geodrain membrane which followed the height of the backfill. Internally we fitted an additional membrane to the walls, then installed a soakaway drainage channel that exited the front of the structure into the main runoff channel provided by the builder. We finally overlaid the floor with an additional membrane system.
