A dry rot outbreak affecting the wall linings, original timber lintel, floor joists, flooring and finishings was found at a property in Tarves, Aberdeenshire.

Faulty roof slates, guttering and defective pointing.

The Treatment of dry rot

Removal of all affected plaster, lath, framing, flooring, joists and lintels. Treatment of the area with a fungicidal fluid, then the reinstatement of new prestressed lintels, treated joist sections, flooring, framing, plasterboard, skirting and mouldings all ready for the plasterer to apply a skim coat.
